A Fort Greene woman died from her injuries sustained by a hit-and-run driver just days after a Kew Gardens Hills woman was killed by a separate motorist while crossing the street.

Tamika Johnson was attempting to diagonally cross 56th Road in Maspeth around 1:20 a.m. on Nov. 2 when she was hit by a black SUV. The NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that the unknown vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.

Johnson, 39 of Fort Greene, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where she died from her injuries on Nov. 4, police said.

On Nov. 8, police responded to the corner of Union Turnpike and 177th Street nearby St. John’s University in Jamaica where Juana Alland was hit by a 2010 Lincoln Navigator.

Alland, 78 of Kew Gardens Hills, was attempting to cross the street in the middle of the busy intersection when the SUV struck her, police said. The woman was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital-Queens for head trauma and pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the large vehicle remained on the scene and was not charged, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
