Flushing Woman Killed While Crossing The Street

An East Flushing woman was fatally struck by a pickup truck a few miles away from her home while crossing the street on Saturday, police said.
Edith Perez was attempting to cross Farrington Street on Saturday when a Chevrolet Silverado crashed into her.
Police said the vehicle was traveling on 31 Road when it made a left turn onto Farrington Street and hit the 62-year-old woman.
When police arrived on the scene she had severe trauma to her head and torso. The ambulance took the woman to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver remained on the scene and was not arrested.
The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
