The “Queen of Percussion” is coming to Queens as the summer heats up. This June, Queens residents will dance to a new beat at a free music festival featuring performances from artists including legendary percussionist Sheila E., known as the “Queen of Percussion.”

The “Only in Queens Summer Festival” will take over Flushing Meadows Corona Park on Sunday, June 23. R&B artist Musiq Soulchild and local Queens Dancehall singer Kranium will join Sheila E. at the festival, hosted by Borough President Melinda Katz and a number of other sponsors.

The concert will last from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and “offer a range of food, entertainment and activities for people of all ages,” according to a press release shared with the Eagle.

“Every summer the Only in Queens Festival brings the funk to Flushing Meadows Corona Park,” NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver said in a statement. “Showcasing a range of artists who represent the diversity of its home borough, the festival enlivens one of our city’s most historic parks.”
