Flushing Town hall’s return to in-person programming continues next month with an evening of community jazz.

On Sept. 8, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, the Louis Armstrong Legacy Monthly Jazz Jam is back in the building.

“On behalf of Flushing Town Hall and the Jazz Jam’s house band and production team, let me say how utterly thrilled we are to see everyone return for a live, in-person jam,” said Flushing Town Hall’s Director of Education and Public Programs Gabrielle M. Hamilton. “It is sure to be a healing and celebratory reunion.”

All visitors, performers, and staff will have to show proof of vaccination to attend the event, which starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for members of the public and free for FTH members, students and participating musicians.

Over the last year and a half audience members and participants have tuned in from across the world to enjoy the jazz programming, and FTH will continue to stream the event to ensure they can still enjoy the music.

“I want to thank everyone who went on this virtual, musical journey with us this past year and a half,” said Band Leader Carol Sudhalter. “The pandemic keeps testing the resolve of the arts community, but we have proven ourselves resilient and inventive.”
