Elderly Pedestrian Killed In Car Crash

An 86-year-old man was struck and killed Saturday night while crossing Parsons Boulevard near 27th Street in College Point, police said.

The pedestrian, not immediately identified, was taken to Booth Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead from head and body trauma, police said.  

The pedestrians shoes, baseball cap and his walker were left scattered on the street after the crash.

The driver, who was also not identified, remained on the scene and was not charged, police said.

The Toyota Highlander struck the pedestrian as he was crossing in the middle of Parsons Boulevard between 27th and 28th Street and was hit in the middle, knocking the mirror off of the van.

The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad investigated the crash.
