A 28-year-old Glendale man was arrested on Monday for leaving the scene of an accident that left a Tribeca man dead, police said.

Irving Duran was driving along Continental Avenue in Forest Hills around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday when he struck Niklas Ahern.

Ahern, 29 of Tribeca, was crossing Continental Avenue when the car struck him and threw his body to the pavement.

Duran, of Glendale, kept driving and did not stop, police said.

When police arrived, Ahem was unconscious and unresponsive. He was taken to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital where he was pronounced dead for head and body trauma, police said.

Duran is awaiting arraignment in Queens Criminal Court for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a death charge. If convicted, Duran faces up to seven years in prison.
