Police say a motorcyclist is dead after a drunken driver struck him on the Long Island Expressway near 169th Street in Utopia.

The crash happened at about 11:15 p.m. Monday. Police say 27-year-old Korey Cox was driving a Nissan Altima in the left lane of the westbound LIE when he veered into the center late and hit a motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit a guardrail and 63-year-old motorcyclist Juan Moncada was ejected and killed. The Nissan hit a fence but Cox was not injured.

Cox was arrested on charges including driving while intoxicated and driving without a license. It's not clear if he has an attorney who can speak for him.
