Body found in building after ‘suspicious’ Queens Village fire

Investigators picking through the charred debris of a Monday morning house fire in Queens Village discovered a dead man with his hands bound behind his back on the first floor of the burnt out building.

The building at 103-18 217th Street previously served a corner store but is under construction. It was nearly empty at the time of the fire around 3 a.m. Monday morning, NYPD officers said .

After putting out the fire, FDNY firefighters found the victim’s unresponsive body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The NYPD has not yet released the victim’s name.

The cause of death has not been determined, and the fire is being investigated as “suspicious,” the NYPD said.
