The Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria has unveiled their “Curator’s Choice” list of the best films of 2018.

Throughout the first week of 2019, the museum will air several of the top films, which include hit horror films, indie festival favorites and episodic TV series.

The event series is organized by the museum’s Curator of Film Eric Hynes and guest curator David Schwartz. Filmmakers Steve James, Ari Aster, Zoe Kazan, Robert Greene, RaMell Ross and Bing Liu will also participate in the events.

The Museum of the Moving Image is located at 36-01 35th Ave. in Astoria’s Kaufman Arts District.

Here’s the list of upcoming film screenings:

“Hereditary” 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2019

“The Rider” 2 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2019

“First Reformed” at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2019

“The Other Side of the Wind” at 7 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2019

“Shirkers” at 2 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2019

“Support the Girls” at 3 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2019

“Hale County This Morning, This Evening” at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2019

“Wildlife” at 6 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2019

“Bisbee ‘17” at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2019
