Fresh Meadows Mom Stabbed To Death, Daughter Wounded

A domestic dispute inside a Fresh Meadows apartment turned deadly when a 45-year-old mother was stabbed to death and her 18-year-old daughter was wounded on Tuesday.

Police were called to the 69th Avenue apartment around 1:30 p.m. where Fatima Jawad was found with several stab wounds and slashes to her chest. Her 18-year-old daughter was found with cuts to her wrist and hands.

The women were taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital where Jawad was pronounced dead and her daughter is currently in stable condition, police said.

A 58-year-old man, who was also inside the bloody apartment, was taken to Queens General Hospital to receive treatment for cuts to his hands. The man, who police said is the father of the wounded teen, was taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing and charges against the man are pending, police said.
