A blaze ripped through an apartment in St. Albans late Wednesday night that killed a 16-year-old girl and seriously injured two others.

Firefighters rushed to the third-floor of a Merrick Boulevard where Lamonies Smith, her 56-year-old mother and 76-year-old neighbor were removed, police said.

All of the women were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens where 16-year-old Smith was pronounced dead.

“On behalf of the 27th District, I wish to extend my condolences to the family of Lamonies Smith, and pray for her mother’s recovery as well as all injured in last night’s deadly blaze. My thanks to our bravest @FDNY whose quick response prevented the further loss of life,” wrote Councilmember I. Daneek Miller on his Twitter account.

Smith’s mother is in critical condition and the neighbor is in serious condition at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, police said.

The cause of the fire will be determined by the city’s Fire Marshal and the city’s Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
