Authorities say a man who chased after some men who robbed a bodega at gunpoint is recovering from being shot in the leg.
WABC reports it happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on 36th Avenue in Astoria.
Police say two men went into the store, while another man acted as a lookout. The men demanded cash, and a gun was displayed.
Authorities say they took about $2,000 and fled, chased by the store owner's brother-in-law. That man, who is from Jamaica, was shot in the leg about a block away and was hospitalized.
