Queens elected officials and advocates braved the cold Monday to announce their next legislative steps to combat New York City’s contributions to the climate crisis next to a neighborhood so affected by air pollution it has been nicknamed “Asthma Alley.”
“If it looks like gerrymandering and sounds like gerrymandering – it’s most likely gerrymandering,” said Brian Browne, an adjunct professor of political science at St. John’s University.
Queens Public Library reopened the Far Rockaway Teen Library on Monday, after its closure during the earliest days of the pandemic.
