Third teen arrested for beating 79-year-old Cambria Heights man

A 14-year-old has been arrested for his alleged role in the beating of a 79-year-old Cambria Heights man earlier this month.

Police say the teen is part of a trio that assaulted the man on Linden Boulevard on the night of Oct. 8. The 14-year-old was arrested on Oct. 31. His identity was not released because he is a minor.

The two other suspects, 18-year-old Nyziere Lodge and an unidentified 15-year-old, were arrested on Oct. 30.

Investigators from the 105th Precinct believe that the 79-year-old was walking in front of the  Queens Library’s Cambria Heoghts branch at around 11:15 a.m. when the teens allegedly attacked. The victim was chased, before being punched in the face and ribs. His femur and ribs were broken as a result of the attack.

All three of the teens were charged with gang assault. Lodge and the 14-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct.
