YMCA opens up summer camps across Queens
/Cooped up kids missed out on summer camp last year but the same won’t be true this summer.
The YMCA of Greater New York kicked off its New York City summer camps on Tuesday, July 6, including six camps in Queens.
There are over 20 camps across the city for all ages and with a large offering of activities, according to the nonprofit.
Specific camps will offer sports, dance and robotics, in addition the normal camp games, arts and crafts, music and more.
Kids at the Cross Island YMCA camp in Bellerose can enroll in Kinder Camp, Traditional Summer Day Camp, Super Sports Camp and STEAM Camp.
The Flushing YMCA is offering Kinder Camp, Early Childhood Camp, Traditional Summer Day Camp, Teen Camp and STEAM Camp.
At the Jamaica YMCA, families can sign up for Kinder Camp, Sports Camp, STEM Camp, Traditional Summer Day Camp and Teen Camp.
Kids looking to get a bilingual education can enroll in the Long Island City YMCA’s Japanese or Spanish Summer Camp. The site is also offering Early Childhood Camp and Traditional Summer Day Camp.
The Ridgewood and Rockaway YMCA are both offering Kinder Camp and Traditional Summer Day Camp.
Certain health precautions will remain in place during the YMCA’s summer offerings including masks, sanitizing and social distancing when possible. All camp activities will take place in ventilated spaces or outdoors. Capacity has been reduced to accommodate health restrictions.
