Just one week after an 80-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street in Murray Hill, a second woman has been reportedly killed in a similar manner in Woodside.

Choekyi Norzom, 49, was crossing Roosevelt Avenue on Nov. 29 at around 8:45 a.m. when she was struck by a van travelling southbound on 65th Street that was trying to make a left turn onto Roosevelt Avenue.

Witnesses called 911 and police from the 108th Precinct found Norzom with bodily trauma. EMS arrived on the scene and rushed her to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where she was pronounced dead.

The 70-year-old driver of the van, who was not identified by police, remained on the scene and was not arrested as of press time Monday. An investigation remains ongoing.

Norzom is the second woman to be struck and killed by a vehicle in Queens within a week. Soon Ok Han, 80, died on Nov. 22 after being hit by a car while she crossed 41st Avenue. The driver in that incident also remained at the scene and was not charged.
