The NYPD is searching for a man who they say assaulted staff at two salons after attempting to pay for massages with counterfeit cash.

The first incident occurred at 10 a.m. Saturday inside of the Fairview Avenue Beauty and Nail Salon. The unidentified man became violent after attempting to pay with a counterfeit $100, the NYPD said. When the employee refused to accept the bill, the man assaulted her and another employee.

He took $200, three cell phones and a camera receiver, police said.

A second incident occurred less than three hours later at Sunshine Foot Spa, on Grandview Avenue where, again, a man attempted to pay for services with a counterfeit $100. When he was confronted by an employee, he grabbed her by the neck before taking two cell phones and fleeing.

None of the employees were seriously injured during either altercation.
