Resorts World Casino has unveiled plans for a new 400-room Hyatt Regency just a few minutes from JFK Airport.

The $400 million project will be located on the grounds of the Aqueduct Racetrack and is set to open early next year. It will feature eight floors of rooms as well as restaurants, conference spaces and gaming amenities in South Ozone Park

State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo Jr., chair of the Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee, praised the new project in his district.

“This hotel creates job opportunities for hundreds of the borough’s residents and is an important step in improving the gaming experience in Queens,” Addabbo said.

Once opened, a free shuttle will be available from the Jamaica station, the company said.

Local Councilmember  I. Daneek Miller said the project has the potential to employ local residents while attracting more visitors to Southeast Queens.

“This new development will bring good, union jobs and add to the ever-growing array of Queens destinations, which we are very excited about,” Miller said. “Queens truly is the World’s Borough, and this partnership will no doubt attract even more visitors and continue to grow our local economy.”
