Queens Theatre and Lincoln Center are partnering to present a series of plays with writers and actors from the disability community as part of a season-long series this month.

“An Evening of Short Plays” will take over the outdoor Isabel and Peter Malkin Stage at Hearst Plaza at 7 p.m. on Aug. 25.

"Queens Theatre is honored to partner once again with Lincoln Center's Accessibility Services for this Restart Stages event - an evening of smart, incisive new plays which respond to our mission of 'Radical Inclusion,’" said Rob Urbinati, director of New Play Development at Queens Theatre.

The three plays were put together by artists from the Theatre For All and New American Voices programs.

“Why I Dance,” by Nayonni Watts, “Kaboom!” by Sarah Bowden and “We’d Make Great Babies,” by Carey Cox expand the virtual partnership formed between theatre companies during the pandemic.

“Throughout the summer, Restart Stages has offered hundreds and hundreds of performances and other activities for New Yorkers to begin to connect with one other again, come together through art, and support our collective cultural and economic recovery,” said Henry Timms, president and CEO of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. “It is such an honor to work with all of the organizations on campus and so many partners from around the city.”

Tickets are free but reservations are required and can be made online.
