The Queens Theatre is kicking off a new program intended to create a safe and supportive space for Asian American and Pacific Islanders amid a surge in anti-Asian hate crimes.
The AAPI Healing Circle offers an opportunity for people “to commune, share responses, ideas, love; celebrate joy, culture, connectivity, and to navigate this turbulent moment in our culture with solidarity and a sense of community,” Queens Theatre said in a statement.

Hour-long sessions will take place every Tuesday at 7 p.m. from April 13 to May 4. Artist Christine Toy Johnson, the DEI Committee chair of the Dramatists Guild of America, will facilitate the program.

“Thank you, [Queens Theatre], for creating this space for us,” Johnson tweeted.

All sessions are free and open to individuals who identify as AAPI. Registration is required.
