The Queens Public Library has launched a free remote printing service at 35 branches to help New Yorkers access vital documents, resumes and other hard-copy paperwork even if they lack a printer at home.

Library patrons will be able to order up to 20 black and white pages a day with their library card, and their printed documents will be available for pick-up within 48 hours.

Queens Public Library President Dennis Walcott said free printing was one of the main reasons people visited the libraries before the pandemic.

“We know how much people rely on us to print government forms, tax information, school reports, résumés, and other documents,” Walcott said. “Remote printing is one of the many ways Queens Public Library has stepped up to serve our communities at a moment when they need us more than ever."

Once the printed paperwork is ready, library staff will notify the cardholder who placed the order. Patrons must bring identification to pick up the pages, which the branch will hold for one week.

Individuals who do not already have a library card can apply for en e-card online.
