One man’s quarantine hobby took a stressful turn last Friday after he was left stranded on one of several small islands in Jamaica Bay.

NYPD Special Operations rescued the marooned kayaker after who started a fire and wrote ‘help’ using sticks to try and get someone’s attention

He was uninjured, and picked up by a helicopter after flagging down the NYPD.

The man had been missing for 12 hours, according to police.
