A Bronx prosecutor charged with drunkenly crashing her car into a line of parked vehicles in Astoria saw her 2019 case dismissed and sealed Wednesday.

Mabel Jimenez, a Bronx assistant district attorney, was arrested for driving drunk and plowing into several cars on 30th Avenue and 33rd Street in Astoria in the early morning hours of Oct. 24, 2019. Bronx DA Darcel Clark kept Jimenez on staff pending the result of her case.

Queens Judge Frances Wang ordered Jimenez’s case sealed Wednesday, two months after another judge issued an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, or ACD. An ACD typically allows a defendant to have their case dismissed after they complete a court-ordered treatment or counseling program.

Jimenez’s attorney, Oliver Storch, declined to comment on the terms of the ACD, but praised the judge and Queens DA Melinda Katz for agreeing to dismiss the charges.

“I credit the Queens DA’s Office for a lengthy and exhaustive investigation and, upon completion of the investigation, the appropriate conclusion was drawn that Ms. Jimenez was issued an ACD and the case was dismissed and sealed,” Storch said.

A spokesperson for the Bronx DA’s Office confirmed that Jimenez is still on staff. The Queens DA’s Office did not respond to a request for comment.
