Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz is the latest New York official to test positive for COVID-19.

A spokesperson for Katz told Politico that Katz has a mild case of the illness and is resting at home. She learned that she had been exposed to a person with a confirmed case of COVID-19  on March 21, and took a test shortly after, Politico reported.

Most Queens DA Office staff members have been working from home due to the COVID-19 crisis, and arraignments in Queens Criminal Court are taking place over video to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The coronavirus continues to deeply impact life in Queens, with the borough accounting for about a third of 33,474 positive cases in New York City as of Sunday night.
