NYC Green Book goes dark

UPDATE: 5:09 p.m. — The Green Book is back!
New York City’s online Green Book went dark Friday. At least for a few hours.
The Green Book lists the contact information for personnel and government offices at the city, county, state and federal levels. The listing also includes state court system information. It’s named for the color of its print cover and it’s a crucial tool for anyone interacting with city government, like social workers and, of course, reporters.
But who do you call when the thing you need to find out who to call isn’t working?
That would be the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, which maintains the directory.
When notified that the site was down Friday, DCAS officials told the Eagle they were working to get the directory back up and running.
The site was offline for at least three hours.
