LGBT Network makes move to Astoria

A pioneering organization serving LGBTQ New Yorkers for nearly three decades is making a move to Astoria.

The LGBT Network, which serves residents of Queens and Long Island, will operate out of the  Kaufman-Astoria Studios main building, the organization announced earlier this month.

“We can think of no better partner and place to be” to support the local LGBT community and allies, said LGBT Network President and CEO David Kilmnick.

“We are so excited to open up our new Queens LGBT Center in the heart of the arts district in the borough of Queens,” Kilmnick added. “The new Queens LGBT Center will continue to be a place where the entire community will have a home to be their true authentic selves and find the support, encouragement and resources they need to reach their full potential.” 

Clients and participants will have access to health and human services, including arts and cultural programs from the Network, he said. The organization was previously based in Long Island City.

Kaufman Astoria Studios Vice President Tracy Capune welcomed the nonprofit.
“The LGBT Network is a great addition to the Kaufman Arts District community,” Capune said.
