A 43-year-old Jackson Heights woman was killed by a stray bullet fired into her apartment early Wednesday morning, police said.

Bertha Arriaga was shot in the head inside her bedroom just after 12:45 a.m., an NYPD spokesperson said. She was found dead by her teenage son, said Councilmember Daniel Dromm.

“Bertha Arriaga was killed by a stray bullet inside of her own home. She died simply because she was standing by her window at the worst possible time,” Dromm said.

Arriaga lived with her family in a six-story apartment complex on 34th Avenue.

No arrests have been made, the NYPD said.
