A citywide effort to support frontline staff working to stop the coronavirus distributed more than 15 million containers of food, supplies and personal care products to New York City medical workers.

The NYC Healthcare Heroes initiative provided a total of 302,653 bags of shelf-stable food, over-the-counter medicine, household cleaning items and other essential items.

The initiative reached more than 100,000 healthcare professionals and was funded with $20 million in donations.

Healthcare Heroes will donate an additional $300,000 worth of food and supplies to local food pantries that partner with the city’s public hospital system.
