The Parks Department unveiled new features and skate ramps in Forest Park last week, aided in part through funds from Councilmember Robert Holden.

“It was awesome to see the skateboard clinic at Forest Park today with new ramps and features that my office funded for the skate park,” Holden said in a statement. “I spoke to some parents and they were so pleased that their kids were able to take part in this program.”

Holden said that after he visited the skate park last fall and saw 20 to 30 kids skating despite 30 degree weather, he wanted to allocate more funds to it.

Forest Park’s skate paradise is one of several in Queens. Local skaters can also bust some sick kickflips at venues in Woodhaven, Astoria, Flushing Meadows and Far Rockaway.
