A St. Albans fire that claimed the lives of three men who were squatting in an vacant home was set intentionally, officials determined over the weekend.

The late-night blaze that engulfed a home at 190-12 110 Road on Nov. 21, killing three men inside, was ruled a triple homicide on Dec. 7, as investigators searched for a suspect.

Police and firefighters responded to a 911 call at the home just before midnight and found the three men unconscious and unresponsive. EMS pronounced the men dead at the scene.

A police spokesperson confirmed with the Eagle that the incident was being treated as a homicide investigation. No arrests had been made as of press time Monday.

An FDNY spokesperson told the Eagle Monday that the initial cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
