Dance the night away at Sunnyside Shines’ 'Date Night'

You don’t need to travel to Manhattan for a romantic night out.

Business Improvement District Sunnyside Shines will host “date nights” throughout June and July, offering free partner dance lessons at Lowery Plaza and bringing swing to Sunnyside sweethearts.

To complete the night, select restaurants in the neighborhood will be offering dine-in specials, and Sunnyside Florist will offer a discount of 20 percent off of $20 or more bouquets.

June will see Queens-based Dance Matters NYC teaching swing dancing, while in July, the Long Island City YMCA sizzle with salsa dancing.

Dance Matters NYC is “committed to enriching the lives of their community through the beauty and transformative power of dance. They are thrilled to be working alongside Sunnyside Shines to bring joy at Lowery Plaza with some amazing Swing Classes,” Mariana Sanchez, Founder and Artistic Director of Dance Matters NYC said in a statement.

“.We hope that the series will bring enjoyment for all participants and to increase visibility near the 40th Street area of Queens Boulevard,” Sunnyside Shines said in a statement.
