Classes for CUNY Law only started on Monday, but the year is already back in full swing with a slate of events.

CUNY Law will host a Public Interest Symposium on Sept. 7, bringing together students and legal and social justice advocates for an afternoon of panels and education. The symposium will feature staff from the Brooklyn and Bronx Defenders, the Immigration Defense Project, and experts in housing rights, human trafficking and disability law.

The event will take place from 1-5 p.m., and including an opportunity for prospective students to have their personal statements critiqued by admissions professionals in one-on-one sessions.

On Sept. 12, CUNY Law will host a career exploration fair, where students can speak to public interest law organizations to learn about the different subsets of the field.

CUNY Law will also participate in the 30th Annual Public Interest Legal Career Reception at Fordham Law School on Sept. 19. The event brings together students and representatives from nearly 100 organizations and agencies that work in the public interest, government, and human rights sectors.

There is no RSVP or registration required prior to the reception. Students should dress in business casual attire, and resumes are not required.
