A 25-year-old College Point man who allegedly shot at police officers responding to a domestic violence call last month was indicted for first-degree attempted murder by a Queens grand jury Monday.

Rodolfo Montero is charged with shooting at cops who responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on 125th street last month. Prosecutors say Montero assaulted his mother and the mother of his one-year-old child and pulled out a gun before the police arrived.

The two women fled the home and cops said they heard gunfire when they pulled up. Officers saw bullets hit a nearby car, said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

“This defendant is accused of attacking the mother of his child and then attempting to murder the law enforcement officers who responded to protect them,” Katz said. “Domestic violence is a real threat in far too many homes.”

Officers found an AK-47 in Montero’s home.

Montero is being held without bail and faces life in prison if convicted.

His initial Legal Aid attorney is no longer working on the case and it was unclear Tuesday who is representing Montero.
