The hyper-competitive New York City restaurant scene is not for the faint for heart, but the owners of a brand new bistro in Long Island City never saw this challenge coming.

American Brass, an upscale eatery on 49th Avenue, opened a day before the city and state shutdown restaurant dining rooms to stem the spread of COVID-19. The unprecedented state of affairs forced owner Robert Briskin and executive chef Raffaele Solinasto shift their business model and menu immediately.

For now, the team is curating a takeout and delivery service, complete with food, cocktails and local craft beer, including their collaboration with the nearby LIC Beer Project. The new brew is called American Brass Pale Ale.

The dinner menu includes appetizers like a wine-infused mac and cheese, main courses, more than 10 different side dishes and, of course, dessert.

Orders for delivery or curbside pickup can be placed through their website.
