A Corona elementary school was evacuated after police say an unidentified person called the school saying he was going to bomb it Wednesday.

NYPD officers from the 115th Precinct responded to P.S. 92Q Harry T. Stewart Sr. at around 4 p.m. after being alerted to the threat. An NYPD spokesperson told the Eagle that the building, which is located at 99-01 34th Ave., was evacuated as a precautionary measure, and that dogs would be brought in to do a sweep.

There was no device found as of 4:19 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The spokesperson added that the evacuation and the use of dogs was “normal” in a potential bomb threat situation. No injuries were reported as of press time Wednesday.

An NYPD investigation remains ongoing. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
