The fifth annual St. Mary’s Golf Outing raised over $128,000 for Bayside children’s hospital St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children on July 24.

John Cahill, senior vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle, and Joe Gallitto, of DJ Ambulette Service, co-chaired the annual benefit supporting St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. All of the funds will go towards funding the hospital’s comprehensive pediatric care efforts.

The event took place at the Morefar Back O’ Beyond Golf Course in Brewster, NY and was sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Manhattan, which offered giveaways, prizes and a trip to an upcoming tournament at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.

The golf outing has raised over $500,000 since it was first held in 2014 and enables benefactors to play the otherwise inaccessible course. Morefar is privately owned by American International Group and generally open only to employees or guests by special invitation.

St. Mary’s is one of New York’s leading pediatric institutions. The hospital specializes in post-acute care and provides rehabilitation, specialized services and education to children with special needs and critical illnesses.

“St. Mary’s is an extremely special place that helps hundreds of kids live better, happier lives,” said Dr. Edwin Simpser, president and CEO of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children.  “Because of the generous support of individuals and corporations who care about children with special needs, we are able to provide high-quality pediatric care, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.”
