Are there rats in your favorite restaurant? A new city tool lets you know

Did your favorite restaurant get an A grade from the New York City Health Department?
An updated website launched by the Health Department on Thursday makes it easier than ever to lookup restaurant grades, so you’re not caught off-guard when your favorite brunch spot starts sporting a “C” grade.
ABCEats allows New Yorkers to look up inspection results and letter grades for any of New York City’s approximately 27,000 restaurants, including the 6,152 that exist in Queens.
Users can search for restaurants by name, as well as by letter grade, type of food, borough, address and/or ZIP code. There is also an accompanying interactive map.
Foodies who use the website on a mobile device can also filter by distance from their current location or display restaurants near them using their device’s current location.
Worried about your favorite restaurant getting a less-than-desirable grade? Currently, more than 90 percent of restaurants citywide have earned “A” grades, according to the Health Department. In Queens, 5,071 restaurants, or 82 percent, have “A” grades, while 280 have “B” grades and 91 have “C” grades.
