The Rockaway Hotel and MoMA PS1 have partnered on a series of outdoor concerts set to kick off next month.
The Warm Up shows, which will feature sets from emerging musicians will take place on Aug. 8, 15 and 22, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the hotel’s Sun Deck and connected Harbor Room. The shows are an extension of MoMA PS1’s series typically hosted at the museum.
“In line with MoMA PS1, The Rockaway Hotel strives to provide a home for the arts and showcase talent through live musical performances that bring the community together,” said Michi Jigarijan, the managing partner and creative chief social impact officer of The Rockaway Hotel.
“Community engagement is one of our key pillars and we’re honored to be working with MoMA PS1 for the second year in a row, this year as the official offsite host for the Warm Up series,” Jigarijan added.
The tickets for the shows, which can be viewed both online and in-person, cost $20 and can be purchased on the hotel’s website.
Performing artists include Maricon, Slink, and Club Eat.
The partnership between the museum and the hotel, which opened its doors last year, began in August 2020 with live-streamed shows from the hotel’s pool and rooftop, which could be viewed from the Rockaway beach boardwalk.
