A Queens actor who was featured in “Blue Bloods,” “Power” and “The Americans,” among other television shows, was indicted on murder charges Friday, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced.
Isaiah Stokes, a 41-year-old from Jamaica, was charged in the shooting death of a Queens Village man in February.
Stokes appeared before Queens Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Holder and was arraigned on murder, ciminal possession of a weapon charges.
On Feb. 7, around 2:45 p.m., the actor allegedly got out of a parked car near Linden Boulevard and 200th Street. He then walked up to the driver’s side window of a white Jeep Grand Cherokee and fired 11 gunshots, according to the charges.
Tyrone Jones, 37, was hit multiple times and later died of his injuries, according to Katz.
Stokes’ defense attorney did not respond to request for comment.
“The defendant is accused of unloading nearly eleven shots during this brazen afternoon shooting,” Katz said. “Gun violence is all too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow it to become the norm.”
Stokes began his television career in 2006, appearing as a character named “The Shooter” on two episodes of FX’s “Rescue Me.”
Holder ordered Stokes to return to court on July 19. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years-to-life in prison.
