In an elaborate ceremony held at the Stuart Cinema and Cafe at Greenpoint, Brooklyn on May 29, 2021, ASA College's Digital Marketing Director, Denys Kapush, was awarded the “Silver Excellence Award” in the Professional Category at the 2021 International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) International Film Festival Manhattan - FilmFreeway for the video commercial "Student Success at ASA College,” which he directed. Only one other video, an entry from Russia, was adjudged better than Mr. Kapush's as his video beat 11 other commercials from France, China, the Philippines, and the United States.

The three-minute, seventeen-second commercial featured three students - Dana, Piere, and Kesha - as they discussed their journeys from difficult situations to college graduates. The film shows students in familiar city locations such as driving through Manhattan, standing in Herald Square, and walking in Washington Square Park. The blending of individual stories around a common theme, along with striking cinematography, resonated with the IFFM judges. In his directorial statement, Mr. Kapush says, “At ASA, we’re proud of this video and award because we believe it is representative of our offering. Every day, students have a fantastic opportunity to make friends from all around the world and learn firsthand about a variety of nationalities, religions, and cultures in the classroom setting as well as outside of it. Our marketing team has to showcase all the amazing and life-changing moments happening every day at ASA and present them to the world. At ASA College, no student is left behind.”

In addition to receiving the Silver Excellence award, Mr. Kapush was named “the Face of IFFM Spring 2021” along with Best Actress Short Film Winner Amanda Troisi. Though receiving many honors Saturday, Mr. Kapush stressed that the biggest honor goes to the entire team at ASA College, “those who were behind making our commercial. Special thanks to President José Valencia and VP Roberto Dumaual for all their support and help in making it happen.” He also offered thanks to Producer and Cinematographer Djiby Drame, and Casting Director Lesia Willis. Mr. Kapush’s approach to marketing embodies the mindset of our organization: “Empathy is the key factor in doing one’s job well as a Digital Marketer in the Higher Education arena. It’s about empathy for future students. By understanding their needs, problems, and frustrations, we can build solutions that solve their problems, satisfy their needs, and provide a delightful user experience.” In these times, empathy can also be the foundation for inspiration and hope. His video, with future-oriented students defining success in their own terms, envisions an uplifted world. For inquiries, you may contact Denys Kapush at 212-672-6450 extension 1475 or 718-559-9315.
