The Church-in-the-Gardens of Forest Hills will host a volunteer fair in order to give area nonprofits a chance to connect with aspiring volunteers.

The church’s World Service Committee will hold the recruitment event at the Church-in-the-Gardens Community House on Sunday, Feb. 23, from noon to 3 p.m.

Admission to the event is free, and the group will provide display tables to participating nonprofits.

“We are really excited about this. There are a great many people in Queens—retirees, students, families—who would love to donate their time and skills to a great cause,” World Service Committee member Hal Christensen said. “This event will be the perfect way for them to learn about opportunities right here in Queens and about service-minded organizations that would love to have their help.”

The World Service Community says it means to provide a relaxed atmosphere at the fair, and has encouraged nonprofits to conduct quick interviews with interested volunteers.

The event will also include door prizes.

The Church-in-the-Gardens community House is located at 15 Borage Place in Forest Hills. For more information, interested parties can send an email to CITGVolFair@gmail.com with “Volunteer Fair” in the subject. Interested nonprofits are asked to complete a form at http://bit.ly/39HCEIwz.
