A Jamaica man who attacked a woman at gunpoint, robbed her and forced her to perform a sex act was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Wednesday.

Brandon Walker, 22, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual act after participating in a gang attack on a woman leaving church. He and three codefendants pointed a gun at the woman, robbed her and forced her to strip and perform a sex act in July 2017.

“A woman leaving church on her way home should not only feel safe, but also be safe,” said Queens Chief Assistant District Attorney John Ryan. “The victim was viciously violated.”

Justice Richard Buchter handed down the sentence in Queens Supreme Court. Cases for Walker’s co-defendants are pending.
