A Far Rockaway elementary school teacher was arrested Monday for allegedly throwing a book at a 9-year-olds face during science class in January.

Cops cuffed Loretta Myers, 48, at PS 253 in Far Rockaway, where she taught science. Myers is charged with second-degree assault, acting in a manner injurious to a child, criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree harassment.

The 9-year-old victim told officers that Myers “threw a book at his face, and said book hit his face causing him substantial pain, as well as, annoyance and alarm,” according to the criminal complaint. The alleged incident occurred on Jan. 31.

Myers was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday and released on her own recognizance. Her return date is scheduled for April 30.
