Stage company Theatre C will bring the glitz and glam — and the debauchery and deviance— of the Moulin Rouge to the Plaxall Gallery in Long Island City on Friday, April 5.

The performance “Voulez-Vous,” created by Theatre C’s Retro Factory, will feature DJ Bright Light Bright Light and turn the 12,000-foot space into Paris’ famous Moulin Rouge, as imagined by designers Frank Oliva and Andrew Garvis.

Opera director Raymond Zilberberg will lead attendees on a guided tour of the club, where dancers will kick off flash mob dances inspired by Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge starring Nicole Kidman.

“The Moulin Rouge was a safe haven for fun and abandon, where people of all walks of life could come to revel, dance, and express their truest self,” the event organizers said. “Retro Factory is also creating a space for everyone to feel welcome and loved; a space of wonder and inclusion. Racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other form of discrimination will not be tolerated.”

Tickets range in price from $10 to $40 and are available here.
