A Jamaica man was found dead just blocks away from his home on St. Patrick’s Day, after suffering what the NYPD called a “puncture” wound to his forehead.

Harnam Thakoor was found unconscious and unresponsive near the intersection of 115th Avenue and 165th Street at around 5:30 a.m. after police from the 113th Precinct received reports of a man shot.

Thakoor, 52, was rushed to Queens Hospital Center by EMS, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police told the Eagle on March 18 that the cause of the puncture wound on Thakoor’s forehead had not yet been determined, and that cops believe it was separate from the gunshot wound.

The results of a Medical Examiner investigation are still pending, and the NYPD told the Eagle that it has not ruled Thakoor’s death a homicide as of press time.

There have been at least 15 shooting incidents in Queens since the start of 2019, according to data from NYPD CompStat.
