A new medical marijuana dispensary set to open in Briarwood is going green.

The Botanist, which opens at 138-72 Queens Blvd. on Wednesday, embraces natural decor to foster an “environment reminiscent of visiting a 19th century greenhouse laboratory, offering a welcoming place for consumers to engage in all things cannabis,” parent company Acreage says on its website.

Acreage is one of the largest legal weed dispensaries in the country and already operates shops in Buffalo and Middletown, NY. But unlike many medicinal marijuana shops, the Briarwood facility forgoes sterile surrounds in favor of lush botanical wall and an education station.

The store will sell a variety of cannabis products available as permitted by New York State regulations, such as vape cartridges, tinctures, capsules and more. The company is also developing proprietary products are also in development that it says it will soon sell.

In order to purchase products at The Botanist, New York State residents must first register as a medical cannabis patient or caregiver.

When the store opens on Wednesday, all veterans who purchase products or merchandise at The Botanist will receive a 10 percent discount. The promotion lasts until March.

The Botanist will be Queens’ third legal weed shop.
