A Long Island octogenarian was struck and killed by a vehicle last week as she crossed a street in Murray Hill.
Soon Ok Han, 80, was crossing 41st Avenue near Murray Street at around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 when an unidentified man driving west on 41st Avenue pulled up to a stop sign at the intersection of Murray Street.
As Ok Han walked throughout the marked crosswalk, the driver proceeded past the stop sign and struck her, knocking Ok Han into the roadway and hitting her again with the vehicle, according to the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
EMS rushed Ok Han to New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Queens, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver, 61, remained at the scene after the collision and had not been arrested as of press time Wednesday. An NYPD investigation remains ongoing.
