News that L train wait times could reach “40 minutes or more” as the subway putters through work zones this summer may drive some commuters to drink.

That’s what Long Island brewing company Blue Point hopes anyway.

Blue Point plans to introduce an L-train themed-beer called “What the L?” this spring. (Ed. not: Cracking a cold one on the actual L train may result in a summons).

Blue Point tapped New York City graphic artist Winston Tseng to create the subway-inspired design (The beer asks, “What the L?” but the label screams “What the Helvetica?”)

Tseng specializes in satirical projects that he posts throughout the subway system. He once created a poster of a Red Sox fan reading “Keep NYC Trash Free” and a faux-MTA Service Update informing commuters that “every train will be delayed at all hours, every day of the year.”

“What the L?” lager is scheduled to reach bars this April — shutdown or no shutdown.
