Man Hit and Killed by Train in Jackson Heights

An F train struck and a killed a man early Friday morning at a Jackson Heights subway station.

The man was hit around 7:15 a.m., according to AM New York, just as early morning commuters began arriving at the station. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified.

It was not immediately clear how or why the man was on the train tracks. Police did not suspect foul play, according to AM New York.

After the accident, multiple trains faced delays throughout the morning. Stations on the M and R lines experienced crowded conditions, NYCT Subway wrote on Twitter. Regular service resumed around 9 a.m. “Trains *are* running,” the agency tweeted, “but may be too crowded to board.”
