Laundromat Employee Assaulted In Woodhaven

Police are looking for a man accused of choking a laundromat employee unconscious in Woodhaven.
The 50-year-old woman was inside the Family Laundry on Jamaica Avenue on Jan. 7 when a man approached her and punched her in the face, police said.
The assailant allegedly dragged the woman into the bathroom where he choked her until she lost consciousness. Police said that the man grabbed the employee’s cell phone from the counter before he left the business.
The laundromat employee was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment for injuries to her face and neck, police said.
The suspect is described as a black man, 5-foot-11-inches tall who was last seen wearing a black-hooded coat, blue jeans and gray sneakers.
